Vintage Walt Disney Menstruation video.. LOL

When you think of Disney, what springs to mind, Fairytales, Princesses, and lovely stories, so when I came across this video I felt I had to watch it, just because watching disney my whole life, made me absolutely love every part of it.. so when i see a vintage video about menstruation....: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=eLhld_PI2zg#!
What I love about it is that it's so sexist, the fact that girls had to be told that it was acceptable to exercise when on your period, and then 'when you come to think of it, most of your daily routine is on the mild side’, and then a picture of this girl dusting, Just makes me think how far women have actually come? Since 1946 so much has changed, that is not what anybody perceives women to be like any more, and that's fantastic! Another thing that I absolutely adore is that the girl looks like Alice in wonderland, or snow white.. I don't think i'll ever be able to look at them in the same way again!
The final thing I adore about it, is their advice for us getting over our hormones, “Once you stop feeling sorry for yourself and take those days in stride, you’ll find it’s easier to keep smiling and even-tempered.” Girls, remember, even if your cramps are so bad you feel like you’re birthing an invisible baby, keep a smile on that pretty little face of yours. You wouldn’t want to look angry, now would you? Sexism to the extreme! You weren’t allowed to look hormonal or moody because you have to ‘keep a smile on that pretty little face of yours’. I love Disney so much, But also the way they were actually willing to put a video out there (sexism aside) and tell girls what is actually happening in their bodies and how they should deal with it, good on you disney! And it is just ridiculous how every woman was expected to act.. I am so glad I live in the 21st Century!

Teenage skin..My favourite face-washes!

Teenage skin is probably the worst factor of being a teenager. Having to go through all that effort every night with seemingly no result, just some big red spots dotted around your face. Disgusting I know. I am going to tell you of the best skincare products I have used, and the ones I wouldn't recommend buying. There is a large variety, Expensive products, to middle priced products, to boots own. I have tried the lo, and I am here to give you my help and expertise. Ok I am going to start with the products I wouldn't buy again. Starting with 'Clean and Clear Exfoliating daily wash'. (Bear in mind I have quite oily skin). I just didn't feel this product did anything, first off the texture was too thick for a face-wash in my opinion. It feels like applying Greek yoghurt to the face. Not pleasant. It claims to have gentle micro-beads that clean skin and unblock pores, But they're so gentle that you can't feel them, so it feels like applying thick gloop to the face. The smell is similar to the cheap soap you'd find in your grandma's bathroom, just picture it, and even the after effects once your face has actually been washed aren't that great, skin feels quite smooth but nothing spectacular. A waste of time in my opinion. It costs £3.00 at boots, so it's cheap! But I  don't like it, sorry!
Ok on to my second product. Aloe gentle facial wash, by the body shop. This product is nice for when your skin is feeling a bit sensitive and dry, it's a lovely soft foam, that smells gorgeous and really fresh, they really captured the smell of aloe vera. The product is pure white. It makes your skin feel so soft, it's lovely. It gets rid of the oil despite the fact it's so soft on the skin, and it's a lovely soothing product that doesen't feel like it has any chemicals or artificial ingredients, even though it is just a thin foam it somehow feels really rich? The only criticism I have is that I personally like to leave my face-wash on for a while, so I know it's doing it's job, and the fact it's such a thin foam means hat it runs down my face, into my eyes, my mouth, my nose etc, which can be a bit of a nightmare and it doesen't taste as good as it smells, I can tell you that! It costs £8.00 in the UK, personally I think it's worth it.
Next I'm going to move on to my seriously cheap face products, don't worry, they don't scrub up too badly actually, definitely worth a try! It's the boots Essentials Cucumber cleansing lotion. I don't regret buying this product at all. It costed 1:50, bargain right!? The only reason I stopped using this was that I needed something that worked slightly better for me, as I have quite acne prone skin, However I have never come across any facial product that smells  better than this, It smells of cool refreshing cucumber, with a slight floral note. It's divine! It has a texture of very thick milk, it goes on smoothly, and lastly it makes your skin feel like silk, Honestly, For a product of £1.50 it's unbelievable!
Next my products from Lush, Herbalism is the best facial wash I have ever used in my life,  it is an absolute nightmare to put on, the smell is like vinegar made out of leaves and herbs, and it is green, but  if you can get past this, it's fantastic, I have really annoying skin, because it's acne prone, but it's sensitive? I know, how annoying, this product absolutely ticks all the boxes for me though, just because there's absolutely no chemicals, honestly, it's completely made out of herbs and plants, Honestly! Go on the website and check! I know by hearing that you'd think oh yawn.. But it's genuinely shocking how you really don't need all the chemicals etc, to give a good result. After buying this, 2 weeks later my skin had improved a noticeable amount, people were asking and asking what i'd been using and things, and i swear by this product now, I'm lost without it! It is a pain to put on, i grant you, as it's a solid cleanser you have to dig whatever amount you need from the tub, (around a pea to a popcorn size, depending on how oily your skin is.) You take the amount and run it under the tap, then rub it on your face in whatever area you want, and honestly it's absolutely fantastic if you can get past the colour, odour, and the fact it's solid. In the UK it sells at £6.95, which I feel is completely worth it.
Last product now,  because I know you're probably all getting really bored, I'll make it short I promise, it's The 'Tea Tree Water' Toner from lush, whatever product I use on my face i'll always spritz this on my face afterwards, It smells lovely and fresh, you can spritz it on to a cotton pad and wipe your face with it if your face is having a bad day, But honestly, This is one of those products every bathroom needs, it wakes you up for the day ahead, It dries relatively quickly, and it is a perfect finish to any skincare routine, fabulous product. It retails in the UK at £3.95 for a 100g bottle, and £7.20 for a 250g bottle. Fantastic product and definately worth the price.

About me!

I am a teenage girl, trying to make the struggles of adolescence slightly easier to cope with, I'll talk about a range of things that are occurring in my life at the moment, so it could be about anything. But it should be something that most of you can relate to!
